Key takeaways

  • Nine-ingredient amino-acid blend marketed for recovery and performance.
  • No trials show injected amino blends outperform oral protein or amino-acid intake.
  • Arginine can trigger herpes simplex flares and interacts with blood-pressure medications.

Frequently asked questions

Do amino-acid injections work better than eating protein?

There's no evidence they do for healthy people. Injected amino blends bypass digestion, but oral protein and amino acids raise blood amino-acid levels effectively. No trials show this blend improves recovery or performance over dietary intake.

Can amino-acid injections raise growth hormone?

High-dose IV arginine does trigger a GH pulse, which is why it's used medically in GH stimulation testing. But that acute spike hasn't been shown to translate into muscle or recovery benefits, and the diagnostic doses are far larger than blend volumes deliver.

Are there risks with amino-acid blends?

Mostly ingredient-specific. Arginine can reactivate cold sores and interacts with blood-pressure and ED medications, and high-dose single amino acids can throw others out of balance. The blend itself has no published safety data.
